Opening the Door: About Me and a Prelude to My Next Blogging Adventure

What’s this blog about you ask? Well, quite few things to be honest…

Let’s start with my name, its Morgan and I have written a blog in the past but have not been writing for over 4 years in the blogosphere. I have 3 children 4 and under, a small progressing homestead (a dream not sure if I can actually call it that), and a joy of being in the kitchen and garden. I love science and got my degree in Nutrition and Dietetics so you most likely will see that side come out in this blog. I miss having the creative outlet that blogging once gave me and am exciting to be generating content again. I see this blog having everything from recipes, how to/DIY, family content, homeschooling content, nutrition and health, and so much more!

Growing up, I had never really been to a farmers’ market or knew that you could purchase food directly from a farm. The closest I had gotten to a garden was in my great grandparent’s backyard munching on their perennial garlic chives-I’m not actually sure they even grew more than that at that age. In my adult years prior to kids, I dabbled a little in gardening, but when we moved into our current home is really when we hit the ground running. We got chickens, and are currently debating dairy goats and meat rabbits. I enjoy canning, dehydrating, fermenting and other preserving hobbies whether it be from my own backyard or local farms.

Growing up and heading into high school I was super interested in languages and science and eventually graduated and headed into undergrad with a Spanish language major. I missed science though and bumbled around a few different majors and schools both in MA and FL before settled back up in NH at UNH. I eventually graduated with a Bachelors in Nutrition and Dietetics and have worked in the Community Nutrition sector through nonprofit work directly related to farmers’ markets and federal nutrition support programs. I never ended going back to become a Registered Dietitian because I loved the deep rooted, community centric, and supportive work I was doing already. I share this as it will also be in support of thematic undertones you may see running through this blog.

I’m not even sure people still read long form content and if you have gotten this far–thank you! I’m excited to hop back into blogging again and can’t wait to start popping all my thoughts, recipes, and other stuff up here.

You can also find me on Instagram @holistichealthmama where I will be posting daily stories and frequent reels. I’m currently shifting into a different phase of life and dialing back my work hours to part time to stay home with my kids. I love new challenges and look forward to creating a more home based life.

Stay Tuned!
